It's time to move again

I had to break out all the boxes, moving pads and blankets and start my yearly packing process.

Sometimes I wish I lived in a big house in a city where I could just settle down in. It would make it a lot easier than having to pack up, get my moving blankets cleaned and washed and start packing all my boxes again.

Good news is that since I stored my boxes and blankets properly last time the maintenance for getting them working again in full condition has been super easy.

The only time I enjoy moving is when I'm moving from a city or town that wasn't kind to me, then it doesn't feel too bad, ya know?

Next stop, who knowS? But will I be prepared.. well probably. :)

Alternatives To Moving Blankets

A lot of times people don't want to spend the extra money on moving blankets so they just reused their old comforters or blankets, sheets etc. This can work in some situations but isn't highly recommended if you are moving your valueables very long distances.

A good old comforter, as cushiony as possible is as good alternative, it's just not going to stay in very good condition for long if you use it to move your stuff around. Don't be shocked when you are all done and you can't use that blanket anymore.

If you plan on using tape, rubber bands, etc on your blankets, then you will probably want to avoid using these alternatives completely unless you are 100% totally ready to give up on the blankets you will be using.

Bottom line is that if you have old throw away blankets, they might just do the job. But if you think you can just use your normal blankets for a long move and then just go back to normal afterwards, you will probably be dissapointed.

Moving sucks

I've always hated moving, with a passion. Everyime I have to move, which is usually every couple or few years, during the entire moving proces I'm thinking how much it would suck if that were my dayjob. How can they stand it? Knowing every day when you go to work you will be moving other peoples furniture all day. What happens when those people have to move? Do they hire someone?

I think that moving blankets make it a little easier, and prevent everything from getting totally damaged at least. I always appreciate it when I do have someone move for me when they show up with moving blankets instead of just assuming that I don't mind if my stuff gets ruined.

It really means alot to know that moving can be considered one of the most horrible things you have to do in life, a nessecary evil, but when friends and family show up to help you get a long and do it, and make it happen. It shows a lot.
